The Novus Programme enrols university students through online assessment centres, to ensure that Novus students are of a high calibre.
Currently, the Novus Programme collaborates with 11 sponsors and 17 UK universities, including:
The Programme Manager also uploads these roles onto the job portals of the 12 partner universities. Opportunities can include summer placements (8-12 weeks), year-long placements (starting around September), and graduate roles. Novus can advertise a variety of positions in logistics, supply chain, operations, HR, finance, IT, and sales.
The Novus Programme assists sponsors in addressing recruitment gaps within the logistics industry.
These events are excellent opportunities to promote roles across multiple universities.
Based on feedback, this event has now been divided into three online fairs, scheduled for the last week of November and the first two weeks of December. Sponsors can select which event they wish to attend. These fairs provide an excellent opportunity for sponsors to promote their roles and engage with interested students.
These tours engage young people with the industry, help them identify potential careers, and generate enthusiasm for the logistics sector. They also provide a platform to promote current roles and for placement students to enhance their presentation skills. Site tours are an effective way to build a pipeline of potential recruits for sponsors.
During these meetings, the Novus Programme Manager provides updates on the programme and any changes. Continuous improvement is a key focus, achieved through feedback from both sponsors and universities. Additionally, Novus students present their experiences from yearlong placements or graduate roles, offering valuable insights and opportunities for best practice sharing.
Novus pays for and schedules a full day of online training in August, ensuring mentors are confident in their roles. The leadership and communication skills gained are transferable to many aspects of the employee’s job.
This is a fantastic opportunity for employees that want to share their expertise and knowledge with the next generation.
Novus sponsors are invited to provide assessors for either morning or afternoon sessions. These centres are an excellent way for sponsors to identify early talent and direct students to their roles. Assessing also offers new staff members insight into the recruitment process and the Novus Programme.
